Before "The Country of the Night" , William Hodgson was writing stories for magazines of all kinds-adventure, mystery, even comedians - among which is the series on Carnacki, the supernatural detective joins incunabula esoteric superstition to modern science to combat occult mysteries (ghosts of animals , monsters, events "poltergeist" , etc ...), of which more than one occasion manages to extract a rational explanation.
